Pitching Powerhouse Joins Atlanta – The Braves are getting a really good pitcher, Chris Sale, from the Red Sox. He agreed to join Atlanta by waiving a rule that said he could choose not to be traded.
To get Sale, the Braves are giving the Red Sox a player called Vaughn Grissom, who might play as their second baseman when the new season starts.
The Red Sox will also give the Braves some money to help with Sale’s salary, which is a lot.
BREAKING: The Atlanta Braves are acquiring seven-time All-Star Chris Sale in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, sources tell ESPN. Well-regarded infield prospect Vaughn Grissom is the return to Boston, which will send money with Sale, who waived his no-trade clause to join Atlanta— Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) December 30, 2023
Sale used to be a top pitcher in the league, but he’s had a lot of injuries lately. Even though he’s not as good as before, he can still make a big difference in games.
Now that Sale is on the Braves, he won’t have as much pressure to be perfect every time he plays.
During his career, Sale has struck out lots of batters in many games. When he played for the Red Sox, he was really hard for other teams to hit.
Some people think Sale might have another really good season in him.
